THE CFLDSG HAS BEEN INVITED TO PUT ON A D-STAR SEMINAR AT THE FT PIERCE HAMFEST ON AUGUST 11TH.

The Central Florida D-Star Group was formed in early 2011 to promote interest in this new digital form of radio communications.  We are an ARRL affiliated club.  One of our main goals is to have D-Star connectivity from the Gulf to the Atlantic through the central part of Florida.
We are interested in all aspects of D-Star from point to point communications to repeater and reflector use. This includes the use of Dongles, DV APs, hot spots, and digital data communications utilizing D-Rats.

We intend promote the use of all the above equipment and modes by encouraging amateur radio operators in Central Florida to learn more about these subjects and become proficient with their usage. This will be done by opening up membership to the Central Florida D-Star Group to any amateur radio operator who has an interest in learning more about the subject or mentoring others.

We find that digital radio communications is new to many hams and misunderstood by others resulting in D-Star myths that we hope to dispel through discussion, education and mentoring.

We foresee the day when D-Star in it’s many variations today and in the future will become a mainstay of VHF and UHF radio communications for enjoyment and emergency use.
